Hitachi Mining Excavators

Very recently, one of the leading excavator and digger designers and manufacturers has release details of their new Dash-6 models. Hitachi mining excavators have noticed a radical change to the engines, which they use, they now contain Tier-2 Cummins running gear and the cabin or the house, which it is often referred to has had its viewing points vastly improved. The suspension of their seat has been redesigned so as to cause less potential spinal damage to the operator when driving over rough terrain and the control levers have been shortened. The reason for this is partly to save time as the throw of the gear stick and controls is shorter, but it is also less strenuous on the driver over long periods of time. A new multifunction monitor has been installed in the cab also which can be used for viewing what it seen out of the rear of the machinery and also monitors the movements of the Hitachi mining excavators.

Hitachi have also developed a new piece of software named the Global e-service which enables any engineer to monitor exactly what is happening with each of the tractors, mining excavators or cranes in live time. They simply log into the system with their own laptop from anywhere in the world and can see statistics and data from any machine that they are authorised to view. This new Dash-6 range was designed with its primary purpose to ensure that it met the standards of the Tier-2 requirements and to provide better reliability. As you can imagine, when such powerful machinery becomes damaged or breaks down, the downtime can be very expensive and the faster the repair is required for, the higher the bills rise. If this time can be reduced or even the likelihood of breakdown occurring then the construction company will instantly be saving money.

One of the best selling models from this range is the EX8000-6, which is equipped with twin engines and a bucket capacity of over 52.3 cubic yards; this just shows how large and powerful they are compared to regular Kubota tractors or Daewoo construction equipment. All models, due to their irregular large sizes can be used in connection with an auger, which is important in the mining trade. They have even thought about things such as access into the cabin. This is a much easier task on smaller equipment, which you might often see on a new housing estate site but the beasts used for mining are significantly larger and more dangerous to even get in to. Stable and movable stairs have been fitted which can be entirely removed when not required if need be.

The new Hitachi mining excavators range boasts five new models, all ranging in size, power and maneoverability. The smallest, the EX1900-6 has the last power at a rating of 1086bhp which is still nearly ten times that of an average motor vehicle. The most powerful model in the range is the EX8000-6, which has nearly four times the pulling power at 3888bhp and weights 1.8 million lbs; it is an extremely large toy for this trade.
